A city in explosive development. An unique skyscraper tower stands in the center, showing an anonymous wealth and success. Overcrowded streets of human beings, all on motorbikes, get mixed up into circulation streams. A magma of images reflects, without consistency, all ideals of consumption.

After five years as a student in Paris, Arash has not really adapted to life in France and decides to return to Iran. His two best friends convince him to travel together for the last time to the South, hoping that the trip will change his mind.

On the highlands of Northern Vietnam, an old white-man travels on his wretched motorbike, makes friends with a young well-off local couple who has a flying cam. When the old man looses everything, he comes back to the grandmother’s house of his new local friend, but the couple leaves and let him with the old woman and her niece, a Vietnamese school-girl, 10 years-old. The flying cam hits an eye injuring the old man who hopes to stay in this place, to help the little girl for writing an English poem, but the police tells him to leave. We don’t know where will be the old man, is he dead or not on the road?

Ali Aqa’s large, fleshy hands shake as he helps a newborn pigeon chick hatch. Sick and old, Ali Aqa refuses to get hospitalized as he would abandon his “sweetheart” pigeons. In Persian slang, these men are called « Love Guys ». His relatives want desperately to save him, while Ali Aqa, consumed by paranoia, wants to save his pigeons. When it goes too far, even the film’s director Kamran Heidari abandons his neutral position as an observer. The situation can have no other way out than drama. Ali Aqa’s character reminds the end of an era which struggles against its own (in)capacity to move forward.
